OPENING VIDEO 2: “RED ALERT”

One of our favorite projects from the Rapid City Rush season was the creation of RED ALERT, an opening video designed to build anticipation and elevate the game-day experience before the team hit the ice. Rather than relying on a traditional voiceover-driven hype video, we focused on creating a feeling. The concept centered around flashing red lights, smoke-filled hallways, aggressive player portraits, and a fast-paced edit driven entirely by music. The goal was simple: create tension, capture attention, and make the crowd feel the energy of the game before the puck ever dropped.

From a video production and marketing perspective, RED ALERT demonstrates how visual storytelling can help organizations create a stronger emotional connection with their audience. Every creative decision, from the lighting and cinematography to the pacing of the edit, was designed to reinforce the intensity and physicality of hockey. By combining custom-filmed player sequences with game footage and crowd reactions, we created a piece that felt larger than life while remaining authentic to the Rapid City Rush brand. It is a great example of how strategic video content can transform an event, strengthen fan engagement, and create memorable experiences for audiences in Rapid City and throughout the Black Hills.

BUD LIGHT PRESENTS: “INVISIBLE WORK” (SHORT-DOCUMENTARY)

For Bud Light Presents: Invisible Work, we wanted to step away from traditional sports highlight reels and instead craft a character-driven documentary that explores the grueling, behind-the-scenes reality of professional hockey. Rather than focusing on the scoreboard, this short film highlights the true "invisible labor" of the Rapid City Rush coaching and operations staff—from the thousands of data points analyzed in the video room to the physical and psychological weight carried by the athletic trainers. We leaned into authentic locker-room environments, natural textures, and candid interviews to capture the relentless preparation and mental chess match that happens long before the fans ever enter the arena.

From a documentary filmmaking and video production perspective, Invisible Work showcases how seamlessly a corporate sponsor can integrate into narrative-driven content. By partnering with Bud Light, we elevated a standard sponsorship into a premium piece of visual storytelling that builds a profound emotional connection with the fanbase. Every cinematography and editing decision was meticulously crafted to highlight the human element of the sport, proving that authentic brand documentaries can drive serious audience engagement. This project serves as a prime example of how our video production company helps sports organizations and corporate partners throughout Rapid City and the Black Hills deliver prestige-level documentary content that resonates far beyond the final buzzer.
