I am thrilled to share a proposal featuring an updated concept for the Black Hills Gold video.
This concepts serve as a starting point, allowing us to explore some ideas. Once a direction is chosen, we will delve into comprehensive ideas, including more specific shots, direction, and overall production details. Enclosed in this correspondence is the main concept along with accompanying objectives, pricing and approach. Your insights are invaluable to us, and I am eager to hear your thoughts as we embark on this creative journey together.
Thank you for your time and consideration—I look forward to the possibilities that lie ahead.
Destyn H.
CONCEPT
The video concept centers on the rich history and craftsmanship of Black Hills Gold Jewelry, set against the backdrop of the iconic Black Hills. The narrative unfolds through the discovery of gold in the region during the Gold Rush, leading to the establishment of the legendary Homestake Mine. The video introduces key figures like Henri LeBeau and S. T. Butler, highlighting their contributions to the unique designs of Black Hills Gold Jewelry.
The storytelling seamlessly weaves through the evolution of the jewelry manufacturing industry, emphasizing pivotal moments and partnerships that shaped its growth. The visual journey spans from the Gold Rush era to modern times, capturing the essence of the Black Hills and the legacy of families like the Riddles and Landstroms. The video concludes by showcasing the Riddles Group, now the world's largest manufacturer of Black Hills Gold, and their commitment to using gold exclusively from the Black Hills. The video aims to not only narrate the history but also visually immerse the audience in the beauty and significance of Riddle's Jewelry manufacturing process of Black Hills Gold.
We could also consider incorporating high-end shots of the jewelry being worn in modern-luxurious style scenes as a potential addition to the video concept. This addition aims to showcase the contemporary elegance of Riddle's Jewelry, seamlessly blending its rich history with a sophisticated and luxurious present-day aesthetic. The inclusion of these shots will not only emphasize the craftsmanship but also elevate the overall visual narrative, creating an aspirational and appealing showcase for the brand.
In reviewing the current video, it's evident that certain aspects require improvement to align with contemporary standards. The footage and editing exhibit an outdated aesthetic, notably characterized by over-matured orange colors, lower resolution, and the use of slide-show images. The audio quality is suboptimal, marked by clipping and a lack of clarity. Additionally, the video employs slow and outdated transition trends, contributing to a less engaging viewer experience. The macro shots of jewelry-making suffer from blurriness and being out of focus, diminishing the overall visual appeal. To enhance the video production, we propose updates in these key areas, ensuring a more polished and modern presentation that captivates the audience.
With that in mind, here are the objectives in mind for this project:
VALUE & GOALS
Modern style, higher-end and up-to-date video visually including better shots, quicker cutting and a higher energy voice over.
Focus on the idea of beauty, effort and scarcity of the jewelry, while still paying homage to the history of the gold.
Emphasize a cohesive and engaging narrative that effectively communicates the history and significance of Riddle's Jewelry manufacturing process of Black Hills Gold. Ensure that the storytelling captivates the audience and keeps them interested throughout the video.
The primary objective is to captivate the audience's attention from start to finish. Achieve this by incorporating engaging visuals, wide variety in shots, a well-paced narrative, and a visually appealing depiction of the Black Hills Gold manufacturing process.
Reinforce the positive image of Riddle's Jewelry as a leading manufacturer of Black Hills Gold. Highlight the brand's commitment to quality, tradition, and its role as a significant player in the industry.
Maintain a consistent and cohesive theme throughout the video. This consistency should extend to the visual elements, storytelling, and overall branding to create a unified and memorable viewing experience.
By spotlighting the history of the gold and underscoring the meticulous effort and time invested in the manufacturing process, the video conveys a narrative that positions the jewelry as not just beautiful but also as a luxurious testament to craftsmanship and heritage. This nuanced storytelling approach enhances consumer awareness, fostering a deeper appreciation for the brand's unique qualities.

APPROACH
Upon finalizing the agreed-upon concept, we'll seamlessly transition to the pre-production phase, where any elements within the treatment can be modified to align with different conceptual ideas and objectives. Depending on the concept's finalization, budget adjustments can be made as needed. Once production days are selected, the pre-production process initiates, involving the organization of crew, actors, and locations. This phase also includes the creation of a detailed shot-list with references, potentially incorporating storyboards and mood boards. During the production phase, our skilled crew will bring the envisioned scenes to life, and for Packages #1 & #2, a client monitor can be provided if the client intends to be present on set. Subsequently, in post-production, an editing period of 2-3 weeks ensues, culminating in the delivery of a first cut to the client. This allows for collaborative revisions until a final cut is mutually agreed upon.
REFERENCES & PROOF OF CONCEPT
With prior experience in collaborating on projects with Riddle's Jewelry, we possess a nuanced understanding of the brand and are well-versed in the specific elements the client aims to emphasize and prioritize within their video marketing strategy.
Our team has previous experience creating a "cinematic reenactment history scene" for a client, featuring a miner mining for gold in the river in 1876. Additionally, we've recently produced a commercial for the brand Stillhouse, highlighting old-western style Deadwood outlaws. These projects align closely with the approach we would adopt for certain scenes in the current concept.
